2011 Scouting Report:

A starter at Sam linebacker the past three seasons, Williams will transition to outside linebacker (the “Panther”) this year. This position switch should take fuller advantage of Williams’ ability to play in space or on the edge. Originally joined Pitt as a running back prospect. Has three defensive touchdowns for his career.

2010: Played in all 13 games, starting 11. Had nine starting assignments at Sam linebacker and two at Will linebacker.Had 64 tackles, 5.5 TFLs, one sack and one fumble recovery. Twice had season-high seven tackles, including the Louisville and West Virginia contests. Had six tackles vs. Kentucky in the BBVA Compass Bowl. Had five tackles and two TFLs at Connecticut. Had a 32-yard fumble return vs. Syracuse, setting up Pitt’s final TD.

2009 Scouting Report: Returning starter at Sam linebacker. Originally a running back at Pitt, Williams boasts outstanding speed and playmaking athleticism. Excellent instincts…last season was his first playing linebacker on any level. High production as a redshirt freshman indicates Williams has all-star potential if he continues to develop.

2008: Stepped into the lineup after senior Sam linebacker Adam Gunn was lost for the season due to a neck injury in the opener. Played in all 13 games, starting the final 12. Compiled 47 tackles, 6.5 TFLs, 3.5 sacks, two INTs and a blocked FG (at Cincinnati). Had career-high eight tackles and 1.5 sacks vs. Iowa…had two INTs at Connecticut, including one returned 20 yards for a TD. He returned his other pick 41 yards to set up a field goal. Williams’ UConn performance marked the first multiple INT game for a Panther since the 2004 season (Malcolm Postell vs. USF). Had three tackles, a 10-yard sack and two pass breakups in the Sun Bowl vs. Oregon State.

2007: Redshirted as a true freshman.

High School: Rated one of Florida’s top 50 overall prospects after rushing for 1,481 yards as a senior at Barron Collier High averaged 6.9 yards per attempt on 215 carries also scored 17 touchdowns. His junior season, rushed for 1,210 yards on 146 carries (8.3 avg.) and 15 TDs. Two-time All-Collier County. Selected Honorable Mention Class 4A All-State by the Florida Sports Writers Association. Finished fourth in school history with 3,077 career rushing yards and 234 career points. Rated Florida’s No. 45 prospect by SuperPrep, No. 47 by Scout.com and No. 78 by Rivals.com. PrepStar All-Southeast Region. Played under Coach Billy Sparacio. Also a standout performer in basketball and track.
